Image is visual representation of the things we see around us, the field that deals with the processing of images is known as image processing. Image processing is one of the emerging research fields for various researchers. It is form of signal processing in which input is an image and output can be same as the input or some part of it, like features, Data etc. It is the process of performing various operation on the images like enhancing, features extraction, restoring the features etc. Image processing is a toolbox that is present in the MATLAB software. MATLAB is the 4 generation language; it is preferred over traditional language because codes written in MATLAB are brief, easy and justifiable.
M.tech Students often get confused when it comes on choosing the research field, they prefer the field in which they can easily work and learning time is also less. EESPL has taken an initiate to help those students by starting the foundation programs on image processing using MATLAB software, with the help of which the students can acquire knowledge about image processing. Not only students, professors or any other aspirants who wants to learn image processing can join this foundation course. This is a 30 hrs foundation program in which we are covering the Image processing module. The program starts with a general introduction about MATLAB software, images, its function, and various tools of the image processing, Different Image Color Models & Their Functionality, its applications demonstration and many more
Image processing is a vast field with various applications. The various sub field of image processing are image enhancement, image restoration, image noising and denoising, image registration and many more are there in which the researches can be done. These programs are knowledgeable and helpful for the students who are pursuing the M.tech, PhD. As during their courses they need to make projects, do research etc. Image processing is thus an interesting field for doing M.tech based project and thesis.
